• attire: clothes, especially of a particular or formal type
• being made redundant: having lost your job because your employer no longer needs you
• blatant: very obvious and intentional, when this is a bad thing (뻔뻔스러운)

• verbatim (/vɜːˈbeɪ.tɪm/, adverb): in a way that uses exactly the same words as were originally used
  • She had an amazing memory and could recall verbatim quite complex conversations.
• whinge: to complain, especially about something that does not seem important

틀리게 / 부정확하게 알고 있었던 내용

• most people vs. most of the people: in general vs. a specific group
• change: 자동사로 쓰일 때 수동태 아님
  • The taxonomy can change at any time
• settle in: 역시 능동태로 사용. We settled in smoothly.
• match도 능동태로 사용. to be matched with something (x), to match something (o)
• at the end vs. in the end: at the end는 문자 그대로 the end를 의미. 시간의 끝. 물체의 끝. in the end는 finally / ulimately / eventually의 의미.
• I’m worried vs. I’m worrying: I’m worrying이 틀린 말은 아닌데 의미가 다르고 그런 표현을 거의 안함.
• similar to vs. similar with: ‘similar with’는 틀린 문법. compared with와 혼동하면 안됨.
• compared to vs. compared with: to와 with를 섞어 쓰는데 to는 비유에 가깝고 with는 비교에 가까움
• celebrate는 타동사. celebrate for xxx는 틀린 문법.

  • with: [Someone] I agree with you.
  • to: [An Action/Plan] I agree to update the script (action). Did the school agree to our request? (proposal)
  • on: [An Decision/Item] We agreed on the price of the golf clubs.
  • about: [A General Topic] We agree about politics.
• I could speak more than when I take private classes. (일반적인 사실이나 평소의 경험과 비교할 때는 과거형이 아니라 현재형을 사용)
